How did Snape know about the plans to move Harry?

At the beginning of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , Snape is cleanly out of the order. The secret of when Harry was moving was very closely kept. It seems even the staunchest Order members don't trust him. So, how did he figure out when Harry was going to be moved to the Weasley's home? Answer If Snape could Confund Mundungus Fletcher to suggest the plan of using multiple Potters for Harry's move, then no doubt he could in the similar fashion get the date from Fletcher after it was set. Snape, highly accomplished in Occlumency, was probably a strong Legilimens as well and may simply have read it in Fletcher's mind. It isn't spelled out in the final book, but that seems the most likely way. It's possible that one of Dumbledore's reasons for having Fletcher -- most likely not all that trusted by the Order himself once Dumbledore was no longer around -- suggest the plan of duplicate Harrys was to ensure that Fletcher would know the date of the move, ma

star trek - How do Hypo-sprays work?

In Star Trek, the hypo-spray is the replacement of the syringe in our time frame. But does the hypo-spray actually pierce the skin? I've seen times when they are used on direct skin contact, through clothes, into a bio-bag-thingy (Voyager), and even into open air like an aerosol can. Is the medication merely absorbed through the skin? Does it pierce the skin? Do the patients feel pain that they are bravely hiding? Answer As Wikis pointed out, the standard hypospray does not pierce the skin. Their standard mode of operation is similar to the jet injector he mentioned. They do, however, have other modes of operation - they can dispense aerosol medications. They also have the ability to collect atmospheric samples or store compressed gasses. They can also inject through clothing. Memory Alpha has more information.

harry potter - Does dying break the animagus form?

If an animagus is transformed and then dies, does that person transform back into the original person or do they remain forever the animal they transformed into? Answer Killing an animagus (almost certainly) returns them to their human form. The harsh cry startled the fox, now crouching almost flat in the undergrowth. It leapt from its hiding place and up the bank. There was a flash of green light, a yelp, and the fox fell back to the ground, dead. The second figure [Bellatrix] turned over the animal with its toe. ‘Just a fox,’ said a woman’s voice dismissively from under the hood. ‘I thought perhaps an Auror – Cissy, wait!’ Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

story identification - movie where aliens invade a farm

direct to video i believe 90s or 2000s real people, not animation. most action occurs at night may not be accurate, but i think the plot revolves around a family that gathers together for thanksgiving. i believe there was just one alien the alien attacks with a laser pointer-like gun. Said light generates terrible headaches on its target. Thank you very much Answer This might be Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County . It aired in 1998 on UPN and was a remake of an earlier 1989 "found footage" film, The McPherson Tape . It's not animated. It involves the McPherson family joining for Thanksgiving dinner. The descriptions have a lot of bits about the lights being out, so I assume it's at night. It does have a ray-gun, but it burns people, and involves at least two aliens. [embedded content]

Are there any title drops of the separate titles in A Song of Ice and Fire?

In the first book, A Game of Thrones , Cersei drops said book's name (also the popular name of the series). "When you play the game of thrones , you win or you die. There is no middle ground." AGOT - Eddard XII Are there similar title drops in the other books; A Clash of Kings , A Storm of Swords , A Feast for Crows , and A Dance with Dragons ? A Dance with Dragons is awfully close to the ' Dance of the Dragons ', the Targaryen civil war, so perhaps that's its namesake, just "harmonized" with the other titles. Answer There are plenty of such events where a character mentions or thinks to him/herself the title of the book in which the chapter is written. Following is the complete list as per chapter names: A Game of thrones Daenerys III "The common people pray for rain, healthy children, and a summer that never ends," Ser Jorah told her. "It is no matter to them if the high lords play their game of thrones , so long as they are left

A short story from 1968-1971 about alien archeologists re-animating human remains for questioning

I'm looking for a story that was written like a report concerning two scientists studying the dead civilization of Earth. They did this by re-animating dust and bones and asking the formerly dead person what happened. They had little success until the last being they re-animated said "We made a mistake. I can fix this. Everything will be fine." Apparently he did. We also learned that the scientists were aliens.

the matrix - What was the purpose of the medical check-up the Oracle performed on Neo?

When Neo goes to the Oracle for the first time, she performs a sort of medical check-up on him... Oracle: Well, let's have a look at you... Open your mouth. Say, 'ahhh.' She checks his throat, his ears, and do some kind of hand reading... Was she just acting, trying to mess with Neo's mind, like telling him he was not the One? Or did it really have a meaning, programmatically speaking? Answer There's no special meaning to it. She's just playing out a sequence whereby she "examines" him and determines that he's not The One. After she examines him she says: Oracle: OK, now I'm supposed to say, "Hmm, that's interesting, but... " then you say... Neo: ..."but what?" Oracle: But... you already know what I'm going to tell you. Neo: I'm not The One. It was just a way for her to act out a sequence so that Neo would jump to the conclusion that he wasn't The One. Neo wasn't The One yet* because he didn't bel

harry potter - Why did Voldemort choose to kill half-bloods first over Muggles?

If half-bloods were filthy scum, according to Voldemort, I don't have words to describe Muggles. Why didn't Voldemort choose to eliminate Muggles first which would have been very easy? Also, destruction of entire Muggle gene pool would have removed the possibility of birth of half-bloods. Answer Though the Dark Lord only had widely targeted Mudbloods for imprisonment and killing, some Muggles were killed under the Dark Lord’s reign. Killing Muggles became sort of like a sport for his supporters, who were allowed the freedom to kill them without being charged. “Meanwhile, in Gaddley, a Muggle family of five has been found dead in their home. Muggle authorities are attributing the deaths to a gas leak, but members of the Order of the Phoenix inform me that it was the Killing Curse – more evidence, as if it were needed, of the fact that Muggle slaughter is becoming little more than a recreational sport under the new regime.” - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Chapter 22 (Th

story identification - People in a white room in space shrinking

So I watched this movie when I was younger (early 2000, I guess) and the only thing I remember is this one scene. There were some people exploring the space and somehow they ended up in this white room and they shrank and in they were looking for someone in this form. And that's it and I am not even sure on the shrinking part, hah. But the white room/space stuck in my head. Answer Could it be the scene from 2000's Mission to Mars , when the three space-suited astronauts enter the Face on Mars? It's an all-white room, and when the door closes it kind of looks like they're shrinking: See the Mission to Mars movie trailer, starting at the 1:46 mark [embedded content]

star trek - Why was Captain Archer so important?

Somehow I cannot understand the key plot of the "Shockwave. Part II" episode . Why did taking Captain Archer out of his original timeline cause the Federation to be never ever created? What was so unique about him? Why couldn't someone else continue his work, now or later? It is said in that very same episode that space exploration by Humans will continue and Earth only needs 10 or 20 more years to re-start. So, what am I missing? What was so important (actually crucial) about Jonathan Archer? Answer ( spoilers ahead !) All of this information is revealed in later episodes of the series, so read this answer at your own risk. It ultimately comes down to a combination of factors: Xindi Conflict - Archer and the Enterprise crew essentially saved the entire human race by destroying the Xindi weapon that aimed to destroy planet Earth. Additionally, he and his crew essentially paved the way for peaceful Xindi-human relations and made the Delphic Expanse inhabitable for the

harry potter - Could Severus Snape fly?

In the question Why did it seem like only Voldemort and Snape could fly? , it is said that Snape could fly. However, I don't remember reading it anywhere in the book. Was it explicitly mentioned in the books (if so, where?) or is it not in the canon? Answer Yes it was, in Book 7. ... classroom where Professors McGonagall, Flitwick, and Sprout were standing at a smashed window. "He jumped," said Professor McGonagall as Harry and Luna ran into the room. "You mean he's dead?" Harry sprinted to the window, ignoring Flitwick's and Sprout's yells of shock at his sudden appearance. "No, he's not dead," said McGonagall bitterly. "Unlike Dumbledore, he was still carrying a wand... and he seems to have learned a few tricks from his master." With a tingle of horror, Harry saw in the distance a huge, bat like shape flying through the darkness toward the perimeter wall. (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Chapter Thirty - The Sacking

story identification - Unpleasant Uses of Replicator/3D Printer

A bank manager gets up, uses his house replicator to make breakfast, then drives to work. he notices that things are wrong, such as damage to the statues on the facade of the bank building. Turns out, the bank is, like society, no longer working - a group of youths are in the bank, and only the janitor is willing to protect him, as long as he opens the vault. Turns out, civilization has collapsed because of replicators - no one works or trades anything except replicated replicators. The banker has a heart attack and dies before he opens the vault, so the janitor feeds his corpse into a replicator and gets a brand new manager, whom he drives home to start the day again. Two lovers among the youths hold each other and drop into a replicator so they can start their life over again, at exactly the same point as the morning since the new bodies are based on a template recorded that morning. Author and name of story? I keep thinking Disch. Answer Your description is very good. The story i

How did Smith get out of the Matrix?

At the end of The Matrix Reloaded and throughout The Matrix Revolutions , Smith is an actual human being outside of the Matrix. How did this happen? Note: the question of why Smith didn't die at the end of the first movie is discussed here , but I am asking how did Smith get out of the Matrix and into a real body (so to speak)? Answer It's not explained. We've got a few choices though... He's overwritten Bane's brain. This one seems the least plausible; Smith has somehow managed to overwrite Bane's brain and implant his own memories and consciousness upon Bane's, in much the same way that the Agents overwrite bluepill humans inside the Matrix. Obviously this opens up many unanswered questions but we do have the two canon examples such as the Steak Scene from the original Matrix film (" I don't wanna remember nothing ") and from the Matrix webcomic " Goliath " where we see that the machines have the ability to edit memory. harry potter - Why Did Lupin and Snape never spot Sirius in animal form during Prisoner of Azkaban?

The plot twist at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban is that Sirius Black is in fact a secret Animagus, the mysterious black shaggy dog that Harry has been seeing all year. Harry doesn't even contemplate that the dog may be an Animagus because he thinks it's the Grim . However, there were two people at Hogwarts who did know Sirius' secret and indeed had an interest in catching him. Both Remus Lupin and Severus Snape believe Sirius to be guilty of thirteen murders at this stage. Neither of them believe in his innocence. Both of them cared deeply about protecting Harry. Both of them believed that Harry was Sirius' number one target. Both of them believed that he was breaking into Hogwarts to try and kill Harry. And both of them, as upstanding wizarding citizens, had a more general interest in catching a dangerous fugitive. Snape also has the added incentive that he hates Sirius' guts. So they would both have handed in Sirius if they'd known where he was. And th

the lord of the rings - Why do Bilbo and Frodo gain access to Valinor?

It's been quite some time since I read the actual books but in the movies at least at the end Frodo and Bilbo are granted passage on the last ship out of the Grey Havens to Valinor. As I understand it, no mortal soul is permitted to set foot on Valinor... ever. This is even the reason Númenor was sunk; Ar-Pharazôn the Golden attempted to invade and the Valar sunk Númenor and destroyed his fleet in punishment. So why are the Hobbits allowed? Is it simply because of their bearing the One Ring? That makes little sense to me; certainly there have been other mortals whose deeds have been equally heroic and selfless in the past who were denied Valinor. Is that really the reason though? That Frodo and Bilbo were bearers of the One Ring? Answer Gandalf, as the representative of the Valar, allowed Frodo and Bilbo to go - Frodo after Arwen intervened on his behalf, and argued that since she had given up her right to go West, it should be given to Frodo. Here is what the Letters say (lette

How can a Stargate draw power from a black hole?

In " Beachhead " (SG-1 season 9), Col. Carter notes that the only thing in the Universe powerful enough to power an Ori Supergate is a black hole, and indeed the Ori manage to collapse an entire planet in order to create one (the gate's completion was thwarted, however). In a later episode, Camelot , they succeed in deploying a Supergate near another artificially-created singularity, allowing an Ori fleet to enter our galaxy. My question is, how can a Stargate harness energy from a black hole ? Answer The mechanism is never explained in-universe. And the current understanding of physics is that any energy generated inside the event horizon cannot be harnessed. Even the energy generated by matter in the accretion disk cannot be harnessed because the harnessing device itself will eventually fall into the black hole. But there may be two other possible mechanisms: If massive quantum fluctuations can be forced at the boundary of the black hole (which may not be totally bey

star trek - How are new things added to the replicator?

In any series of Star Trek using this technology, how are new items--food-related or not--added to the replicator database for future replication ? Couldn't find anything on StarTrek.com or the Wikipedia . Is there an official procedure involving some sort of program where you name and describe what it is before adding a sample? Or is it more of a "here ya go" type of insertion? Can you only give a partial list of ingredients and tell the machine it needs certain extra things to be complete (give it beef, then specify it also needs a bun, lettuce, tomato, and Miracle Whip)? If there are differences in procedure between generations, I'd like to know those as well. Don't care about canonicity.

harry potter - Would Voldemort have been recognisable to the average wizard?

Voldemort has quite a unique look and the wizarding world knew to fear him - much like Harry, everyone knew his name. However, he worked quite stealthily almost until the end of the last book. Obviously Dumbledore, Death Eaters, the Minister and Order of the Phoenix members would have known exactly what he looked like, but he hardly did publicity shoots. Add to this, his appearance changes quite frequently from handsome young man to snake-faced mystery man with his appearance presumably worsening with each new Horcrux created. Would your average witch or wizard have recognised him should he come knocking? Answer Initially, no Tom Riddle was a promising student, but most people would not have met him. I don't recall any particular achievements of his that would have led to his face being featured in, for example, the Daily Prophet. He took a low-key job at Borgin and Burkes, and was hardly ever in the spotlight. I know that several teachers, Professor Slughorn amongst them, sugges

Seeking a children's story about living in a horrible "intelligent" house

In one of the kids' magazines I or my brothers had in the 1980s, there was a science fiction story I would like to find again. It was about a family who won a contest or sweepstakes and got to live for a week or a month in a futuristic "intelligent" house. I believe opening sentence was something like this: "This is the story of my father [sustained some injury] living in the house of the future." I remember a few things about the house. The narrator's (one of the children in the family, named Becky) first impression was that it looked like a giant marshmallow. It didn't have a key lock on the front door, but it relied on voice identification to let people in. When the father caught a cold, he couldn't get the door to recognize his voice, so he had to get the kids to let him into the house. This was just one of several problems that occurred over the course of the brief time that the family was staying in the house. Another problem happened when the

star trek - What are the in universe telltale indicators of an away beam down or beam up? What do witnesses experience?

As a long time fan, I'm familiar with the tell tale sound effects that indicate when the beaming process is taking place. What do residents of the Star Trek universe witness from the ground when people beam back to or down from the ship? Answer The only tell-tale is the distinctive audio warble that accompanies both the materialization and de-materialization. Memory alpha has a lengthy entry on the transporter here . In addition there are several episode where the characters have a reaction shot when someone beams into their presence even when they are expecting their arrival. There is also at least 2 examples of characters recognizing the sound of a transport in process and jumping into the beam with the intended target, i.e. the Romulan commander in "The Enterprise Incident" and Gillian in "The Voyage Home" So, what you would witness is, 1) The sound of impending transport and then 2) The fade in (or out) of whoever or whatever is being transported. Just my

star wars - What are some things that only Jedi Masters could do, and not new Jedi Knights (or Padawans)?

Was the difference in the things that a Jedi Master could do with the Force and the things a newly-Knighted Jedi Knight could do, simply a matter of practice and familiarity? Did promotion to Knight mean that the Jedi Padawan already knew all skills that a Jedi Master would know, with the difference in level simply a matter of practice-making-better-the-skills-you-already have; or does canon give us any skills that were reserved to be learnt only by Masters or experienced Knights? If yes, what are some of these Master/experienced Knight-level Force-skills according to canon? Answer According to the sourcebook " The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force " the answer is that the title of Jedi Master is precisely that, a title. This honorific can be gained in a variety of ways: By undertaking a more advanced version of the Jedi Trials By taking on a teaching position at the Jedi Temple By mentoring one or more Padawan learners (typically the title of Master would be c

Date System Used Before ABY in Star Wars

Much like we use B.C.E and A.D, in the Star Wars universe they use B.B.Y and A.B.Y, standing for Before Battle of Yavin and After Battle of Yavin respectively. But what date system had the galaxy used before the events of Episode 4? Answer The Star Wars universe has a long history. As you might expect, there have been a number of different dating systems used throughout that time. Wookieepedia mentions several possible dating epochs. The main alternative that I'm familiar with is the date of the Treaty of Coruscant (3653 BBY), which was used for quite some time, with dates being given BTC and ATC. This is the calendar used in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Wookieepedia also remarks on the change in dating system: In 25 ABY, the New Republic commissioned the New Republic Historical Council to re-standardize the Galactic Calendar. The historical council chose the Battle of Yavin, instead of the Battle of Endor, calling the former the more significant galactic event. From

a song of ice and fire - Who is Lord Hoster Tully's Tansy?

In his death bed, Lord Hoster Tully speaks in delirium of Tansy. Who is she? There was a smell of death about that room; a heavy smell, sweet and foul, clinging. It reminded her of the sons that she had lost, her sweet Bran and her little Rickon, slain at the hand of Theon Greyjoy, who had been Ned’s ward. She still grieved for Ned, she would always grieve for Ned, but to have her babies taken as well... “It is a monstrous cruel thing to lose a child,” she whispered softly, more to herself than to her father. Lord Hoster’s eyes opened. “Tansy,” he husked in a voice thick with pain. He does not know me. Catelyn had grown accustomed to him taking her for her mother or her sister Lysa, but Tansy was a name strange to her. “It’s Catelyn,” she said. “It’s Cat, Father.” “Forgive me... the blood... oh, please... Tansy ... Lord Hoster groaned. “Dead.” His hand groped for hers. “You’ll have others... sweet babes, and trueborn.” Answer I believe what he's talking about is the long rumored

star wars - Can Force Ghosts fight with each other?

We were just talking nonsense in the Star Wars Rumorfest chat room and then @DrRDizzle said: Force Ghost Palpatine vs Force Ghosts Anakin, Yoda and Obi-Wan. Also, Qui-Gon, why not. Transcript Link It got me wondering... can Force Ghosts really fight with each other? As far as I know, this has never been happened in the main canon, so I am looking for answers from Legends. Note: While the question mainly revolves around non-verbal fights like Force Push, Lightsaber battle (if ghost clothes can exist, ghost lightsaber surely can), some kind of Sith/Jedi magic attack etc., I'd also like to know whether verbal psychological warfare (which seems possible) has happened in Legends or not. Answer Within the main Star Wars canon, the only "Force ghosts" that exist are former Jedi masters such as Yoda and Ben Kenobi as well as the newly reformed Anakin Skywalker. A quote from the novelisation of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith makes it abundantly clear that there is no such thi

suggested order - Which episodes of the new doctor who series are required viewing before starting series six?

I'm very excited to be getting the complete Doctor Who Series Six. The only issue I have is that my wife and I are still in the middle of series three on Netflix. Without too many spoilers, can I get a list of episodes from series one through five that are required viewing for all of the plot threads in series six to make sense? Answer The only episodes that are 100% vital for watching series 6 are Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead from series 4, as they introduce a major character for series 6 (River Song), and The Eleventh Hour , The Time of Angels , Flesh and Stone , Amy's Choice , The Hungry Earth , Cold Blood , The Pandorica Opens , and The Big Bang from series 5, as they continue the River Song storyline, and introduce the new Doctor and companions (which are kept around for series 6). However, I would still suggest watching all of series 5 , as it sets up the relationship between the main companions in series 6, and the entire series has a single plot th

star wars - Why can the droids pass through the Gungans' shields but their weapons can't?

Why is it that shields stop the droid army's weapons but the droids themselves can pass through the shields without any problems? Would they have been able to attack the Gungans if they had something other than energy weapons, maybe something physical such as bullets or cannon balls? Answer Basically, the shields they used would only block things with at least a certain threshold of energy or speed. From the Wookieepedia entry on shields : The Gungan shields used during the Battle of Naboo blocked lasers, but droids could pass through because of their relatively slow movement in comparison to the laser bolts.

tolkiens legendarium - How did Bilbo Baggins find the One Ring exactly?

In the Fellowship of the Ring movie, it explains how Bilbo got the Ring: Its time had now come. It abandoned Gollum. But then something happened that the Ring did not intend. It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable. A hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire. In The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie, Bilbo and a goblin fall after they fight. Bilbo wakes up under the mushrooms, the goblin is unconscious. Bilbo sees Gollum. He tries to drag the goblin to his own place for eating. The goblin struggles and Gollum starts to hit it until it dies. In this fight, the One Ring falls from Gollum's pocket. Gollum starts to drag the now unconscious goblin. Bilbo waits until he leaves, he stands up, picks his sword under the mushrooms and then see the Ring . He takes it and puts it in his pocket. star wars - Where did Luke Skywalker learn to build his own lightsaber?

I know that, as part of their training, all Jedi were required to build their own lightsaber. Did Yoda teach Luke on Dagobah before heading to Bespin? Answer In the book Shadows of the Empire Luke goes to Obi-wan's old place on Tatooine and finds his lightsaber plans. Luke uses these plans to build his own lightsaber. If you compare Obi-wan's lightsaber and the one Luke made, there are some pretty major design similarities. When Luke was training under Yoda, he already had a lightsaber, so it's not unreasonable that Yoda skipped the 'how to make your lightsaber' lesson.

revolution - Why could they not make bullets without power?

In Revolution, episode 4, one of the militia guys says that they can't make bullets anymore. As far as I know, bullets were made before electricity. All that's needed is gunpowder, which the Chinese made a few thousands of years ago, and lead. I know that mass producing them would be difficult without electricity, but other than that, what would prevent anyone from making new bullets? Was there any further explanation given that I just didn't see?

star wars - Is this the same moon as in Return of the Jedi?

In The Rise of Skywalker , a scene takes place in the remains of the second Death Star. It is mentioned in the script that it’s located on a moon of the Endor system, but it not clear if it’s the same "Forest Moon" of Endor as seen in Return of the Jedi . Is this the same moon? If not, how do the remains of the Death Star end up on a different moon to the one it was in orbit of? Answer The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary and Rise of Skywalker: The Galactic Guide identify the object in question as IX3244-C, otherwise known as the Ocean Moon of Endor or Kef Bir Kef Bir is one of many moons that orbits the giant gas planet Endor. This moon is covered in oceans, with some grassy islands emerging from the waters. Herds of wild orbak creatures live here Rise of Skywalker: The Galactic Guide Rise of Skywalker: Visual Dictionary

marvel - How many times did Doctor Strange "loop"?

At the end of Doctor Strange Doctor Strange flies into the dark dimension and starts a time loop. We only see maybe a dozen or so iterations, but the implication is that it went on for much longer. Do we have any information as to how many times they went through that? Answer We don't know exactly, but it's more than a few times The Hollywood Reporter asked this question of screenwriter Jon Spaihts, who responded: There is a deliberate ambiguity there. It's one of those places where you want not to over explain. But I think he [things] dozens of times, if not hundreds of times in there . I think he really gets a taste of eternal sacrifice and sticks to his guns. And Empire Online sat down with director Scott Derrickson, who said that a deleted line would have revealed that they'd gone through the loop thousands of times: "We had a line," recounts Derrickson, "where Strange said, 'we've been through this a thousand times. Literally. I fancied

harry potter - How many people did Voldemort kill?

Albus Dumbledore stated in HP6 about Inferi and Voldemort: They are corpses, dead bodies that have been bewitched to do a Dark wizard's bidding. Inferi have not been seen for a long time, however, not since Voldemort was last powerful ... He killed enough people to make an army of them, of course . Is there a way to estimate from canon just how many people (muggles, wizards, or both) Voldemort personally killed ? What is included in "Personally": Cast a spell resulting in death. Ordered his pet to do the killing (e.g. Nagini). Imperiused someone else and ordered them to do the killing while imperiused. What is NOT included: ordered a person with a free will (non-Imperioused) to kill. Answer Coming in three years later, in the advent of Pottermore ... By my count, Voldemort killed a minimum of eighteen people and upwards of hundreds more. star trek - How does holodeck keep people from running into the walls?

I can understand how the holodeck creates virtual environments. But I don't see any mechanism that prevents people from walking into walls. Are the floors moving? Are they in a different dimension that has more space? Do they simulate the feeling of movement while keeping you stationary? Some simulations appear to take up far more physical space than the holodeck would allow (as in people are physically all over the virtually created world - like Voyager's 24/7 running Irish city).

In The Walking Dead, what did Dr. Jenner tell Rick?

In the episode "TS-19", Dr. Jenner whispers something into Rick's ear before they leave the CDC which leaves Rick visibly shaken. What exactly does he tell him? Answer It is revealed in Season 2, Episode #13 " Beside the Dying Fire ". Jenner tells Rick that No matter how you die, you always come back as a walker - in other words, everyone is already infected. This comes after other survivors ask how Randall turned without being bitten and after we see Shane come back without being bitten. However he did have a scratch on his stomach.

star trek - What is the history between Q and Guinan?

In Q Who? , Q is introduced to Guinan in the Enterprise-D's Ten-Forward lounge. He then says: "'Guinan' – is that your name now?" He claims that Guinan, "is not what she appears to be." As well, when Q reaches out his hand towards Guinan and offers to Picard her extradition from the Enterprise, Guinan holds her two hands up at Q in a threatening manner. So they have obviously some prior history, and Guinan was going by some other name. Does anyone know the backstory? Or what prior history exists between them? Answer It is not certain if Guinan and Q waged a war together, all we know is that they knew each other from before. Star Trek memory alpha wiki: Guinan had "some dealings" with Q sometime during the 22nd century and indeed other members of the Q Continuum, some of whom she said "were almost respectable". Her exact relationship with Q remains unclear, though it was evidently hostile. Q described Guinan as an "imp" and
