In the premiere episode of Star Trek: Discovery, there are at least two officers on the bridge of the USS Shenzhou with apparent cybernetic attachments: Has there been any creator comment about the nature of these characters, or how they came to be, apparently, augmented? Answer In episode three, "Context is King" we see that Keyla Detmer has had a similar device added compared to the first two episodes. Especially paired with her coldness/anger vs. Michael Burham, it is clear that this prosthetic/implant is a result of her injury in the previous episode at the Battle of the Binary Stars. So we must conclude that this type of (probably cybernetic) augmentation is relatively commonplace in the new canon, similarly to other changes such as the ubiquitous holographic communications.

Almost 10 years ago I saw an English sci-fi film on a Hungarian TV channel. The story was about a military mission started from Earth to an alien planet to destroy the whole race. The full story was happen on the same starship (mainly the conversations and the mood of the film was interesting). The leaders of the mission has only one eye, because one of their eye was exchanged to a special monocular computer interface. This interface was used to unlock secret codes. On the way to the alien planet some type of malfunction happened, and also some solder died. Step by step more army man died, and at near to the end of film just a few people remained. They feel the mission in danger and tried to save the situation. Finally only one young solder remained alive who launched the nuclear bomb carried by the starship to destroy the planet where the ship arrived. In episode 9 of season 6: Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton meet before the battle. At one point Jon says to Ramsay - "Will your men want to fight for you when they hear you wouldn't fight for them" - To which Ramsay appears visibly annoyed. What was Jon referring to?

(from around the 90's) Things I remember: I remember that one of the players was in a wheelchair and he played a dwarf, Also remember when the wizard woke up in the game world, he set off a lightning bolt and exploded most of their gear. I wish I could give you more, I read it and it inspired me to start playing D&D. Want to revisit it.
