the matrix - Was (Smith)Bane communicating with Smith?


My Answer to another question got me thinking about whether or not (Smith)Bane was communicating with the Agent Smith Program inside the Matrix.


Is it possible that (Smith)Bane is just a copy of the program that needed to communicate with the Smith Program for instruction intermittently?



Answer



I know that the first thing that comes to mind is Neo's encounter with the Sentinel, then comes the fact that he exists inside the train station on Mobil Ave.



let's look at these for a minute and decide later whether Smith could communicate in the same fashion as these two instances.


Let's first take a look at the realms that we know to exist given the information in the 3 movies



  1. The Matrix

  2. The Train Station (Mobil Ave.)

  3. The Machine World

  4. The Real World


We know that Mobil ave. exists as a gateway between the Machine World and the Matrix because the Programs there are being carted to a place where they will be safe from Smith and the Destruction of the Matrix, some even say that the programs hide in the Train Station during the reboot of the Matrix so this is a separate realm from the Matrix and not dependent on it for survival.


In the Real world, real machines are after the Humans that have been set free from the Matrix. These machines must have a wireless link to the machine world.

  • Machine World

    • Servers

    • Sentinels

    • Machines



  • The Train Station


    • a Port on a server between the Matrix and the "Server"(Machine World)

    • or a storage device connected to the Machine world with a program that downloads to the Matrix and the Machine World based on a set of rules defined by the The Trainman Program



  • The Matrix

    • The Signal from this program must be broadcast via wireless signals for some reason as the Humans (unplugged) in the real world are able to hack into the signal to reintroduce what I call their "program" to the Matrix and bring it back





The Train Station, The Matrix, Sentinels and other machines are all connected to the Machine World in some fashion or another.


I also assume that the Matrix is not the only place in the Machine world where there are programs.


When the Sentinel finds them Neo sends out his program to shut down the Sentinel, instead of his program returning to his body, a connection is made to the Machine world, seeing as how there is no place for Neo's "program" in the Machine world it is sent to a type of purgatory for exiled programs that don't quite fit anywhere anymore, The Train Station. But Neo is still connected by Wireless signal, had the machines been ready for him they could have assimilated his code this way before he was sent to The Train Station. Neo couldn't leave because he didn't understand the laws or ideas behind the place where he was, it was a brand new Matrix with one way out.


We also know that there is only one way into The Train Station this lends itself to the fact that everyone is safe there, safe from The Matrix, from the Program Smith, and safe from Deletion.


With this information it is possible that the Program Smith could have been able to communicate with (Smith)Bane in a similar manner if he was able to find a way to broadcast the signal close enough to (Smith)Bane, Theoretically.

In Harry Potter we are introduced to Kwikspell course in The Chamber of Secrets (and never hear about it again). We see Filch taking courses, presumably by mail. The descriptions of Kwikspell make me think it is for people who are weak in magic (kind of like how Neville was supposed to be when he was younger), but had magic in them nonetheless. futurama - How much time is lost in 'Time Keeps on Slippin''

In time Keeps on Slippin' , Farnsworth creates a basketball team which he matures by abusing Chronitons. This leads to time skipping forward by random, but ever increasing amounts. How much time was skipped in this way? Answer Unfortunately, I don't think a good estimate can be made for this, for two reasons: Many of the time skips move forward by an indeterminate amount of time. At one point, the Professor mentions localized regions of space skipping forward much more than others. We then see two young boys on the street below complaining about having to pay social security, only to suddenly become senior citizens and start complaining about wanting their money. Thus, each individual could have experienced a different amount of time skippage.

languages - Do we ever see written English in the Star Wars films?

In Empire Strikes Back , we see a transcription of what R2's beeps and bloops mean, but it's not English (sorry for the low quality, it's from the 2004 DVDs): I'd assume it's what Basic looks like when written, but is there some point in the the Star Wars films we see written English instead? (This sort of spun off from a discussion in How do people understand astromech droids? .) Answer At one point there was English but it has been phased out in subsequent versions of the films. Chris Gould at DVD Active did a comparison of all versions of each of the Star Wars films, and in his comparison of Episode 4 , there are a couple of screenshots showing how the power gauge for the Death Star tractor beam was changed. I imagine there are probably more to be found in his other comparisons but I haven't got around to reading those yet.

Was the "pure soul" of Harry's what had really hurt Voldemort?

In the Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort possesses Harry, and it hurts. Greatly. I think that Dumbledore explained that it was because Voldemort's rotten soul was incapable of assimilating Harry's pure soul, that Voldemort didn't understand the love and friendship etc that Harry has in his heart. But, I think it was a lie. Remember that in Deathly Hallows, while looking for information regarding Horcruxes, it is discovered that it is in fact possible to merge a soul fragment back, but that the process was extremely painful. Now then, if Voldemort tried to possess Harry, and Harry had a fragment of Voldemort's soul, I think that it could have been the true cause of Voldemort's pain: the fact of having his soul so close of another fragment. I think that Dumbledore knew that fact, but had to lie to Harry because it was inappropriate to let him know that he had one of Voldemort's soul fragments at the moment. Is that right? Or was it truly the pure soul of Harry's...
